• Checco Zalone, a young man from Puglia who dreams of becoming a singer, was left by his girlfriend because he is chasing a dream that is difficult to achieve while she would like to get married and start a family
• Checco then decides to leave Polignano and reach Milan, where perhaps he will be able to arrange something
• Once he arrives in the city, he is hosted by his cousin Alfredo, but obviously he struggles to adapt to the open mentality of the northern city.
• Then, one day, he meets Marika. It's love at first sight between the two, but her father, a staunch supporter of the Northern League and full of prejudices against southerners, can't stand their relationship.
